Headstrong serves veterans of every era and discharge status, National Guard and Reserve members, service members within three months of separation or retirement, Gold Star family members, and eligible family members by referral.
Eligibility is based on three primary criteria: Where do you currently live? What is your connection to military service? Are you seeking treatment related to trauma?
Headstrong currently provides care in 20 states and Washington, D.C. Availability can change as funding and clinician capacity change. The Connect to Care form always reflects where new referrals are being accepted.
To provide care responsibly and sustainably, Headstrong may temporarily pause referrals in some locations. If care is unavailable, we will point you toward trusted national resources.
No two experiences of trauma are the same. Headstrong provides confidential, individualized care across the military community, and the trauma you want to address does not have to be combat- or service-related.
Veterans and current or former members of the National Guard and Reserve may be eligible regardless of when they served or how they were discharged.
Service members within three months of separation or retirement can begin care while preparing for their transition to civilian life.
Gold Star family members can receive individualized trauma treatment in a confidential setting.
Spouses, partners, and family members may be eligible for individual, couples, or family services when their veteran or service member is in Headstrong care. A referral from the treating Headstrong clinician is required.

Headstrong specializes in treating PTSD and other trauma-related concerns. Treatment may also address depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties, or relationship problems when they occur alongside trauma. If you are unsure whether Headstrong is a fit, a Care Coordinator can discuss your needs during a confidential phone intake.
