If you or someone you know is in crisis, call 988 and press 1, text 838255, or visit VeteransCrisisLine.net. Free, confidential support is available 24/7.
Eligibility depends on where you live, your connection to military service, and the kind of support you are seeking. Review eligibility requirements then fill out our brief Connect to Care form.
After you submit the form, a Care Coordinator will reach out for a confidential 20- to 30-minute phone intake. They will ask about your goals, schedule, preferences, and what has or has not worked before, then begin finding a therapist who fits. Care is available both in-person and virtually.
Once matched, you and your therapist will develop a treatment plan based on your goals, needs, and preferences. Using evidence-based, trauma-focused therapy, you’ll work together to address symptoms, build skills, and track your progress. Headstrong’s trauma treatment program provides 30 cost-free sessions. If care continues after session 30, a modest client copayment applies.
Effective treatment is designed to help you use what you learn beyond the therapy room. As symptoms improve, you and your therapist will prepare for treatment to end and identify practical tools for relationships, work, family life, and whatever comes next.
From intake through your final session, Headstrong makes the process clear, protects your privacy, and keeps treatment focused on your needs and goals.
Headstrong treatment is confidential and independent of the VA and Department of Defense. Insurance is not required, and up to 30 eligible therapy sessions are fully covered.
Trauma may be part of your story, but it does not have to decide what comes next. You bring the courage to begin. We will help make the path to care clear.
